Recap: Catalina Trojans vs. Tanque Verde Hawks
This season hasn't been kind to the Catalina Trojans, who are still winless after their seventh matchup. They were dealt a 61-29 defeat at the hands of Tanque Verde on Monday. Catalina has struggled against Tanque Verde recently, as their contest on Monday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tanque Verde to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rich Knott, who scored 13 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Rocco Haggard was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Catalina bumped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Tanque Verde, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.
Catalina will be home for the holidays to greet St. Augustine Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Tanque Verde, they will head out on the road to face off against Sahuaro at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Sahuaro's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matches.
