Softball Recap: Minnewaska Area's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Minnewaska Area's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Yellow Medicine East Sting by a score of 4-1. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lakers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Mataya Mix spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Emma Poegel was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season.

Minnewaska Area's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Yellow Medicine East, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Minnewaska Area will take on Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Yellow Medicine East, they will face off against MACCRAY at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolverines will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Sting surely won't give up without a fight.
