Soccer Game Preview: Stone vs. Wayne County

The Stone Tomcats will face off against the Wayne County War Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Stone is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Gautier on Tuesday. Stone fell just short of Gautier by a score of 2-1. The Tomcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Wayne County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 3-0 to Vancleave. That's two games in a row now that the War Eagles have lost by exactly three goals.

Stone's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Wayne County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Stone took their win against Wayne County when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 7-1. Will Stone repeat their success, or does Wayne County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
