Baseball Recap: Murray Spartans vs. Box Elder Bees
Murray and Box Elder squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Murray had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Box Elder Bees by a score of 7-5. Murray was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Box Elder apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2021.
Murray saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kason Bleckert, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, a triple, and an RBI. Bleckert has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive pitching appearances. Jacob Reece was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
On Box Elder's side, KJ Argyle made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Argyle was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 2-for-5.
