Baseball Preview: Logan Grizzlies vs. Sky View Bobcats
Logan is 1-9 against Sky View since April of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Grizzlies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bobcats at 4:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Logan is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over Summit Academy on Friday. That's two games straight that the Grizzlies have won by just one run.
Logan saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylee Hoth, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Another was Tyler Garren, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Sky View never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Ogden on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Tigers 11-9. The win continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won five in a row.
Skyler Murdock was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Chance Wilson, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Logan's victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-10. As for Sky View, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Logan has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Sky View struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
