Baseball Recap: Union City's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Union City put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by an 8-2 margin over Hollis. Considering Union City has won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Union City got a big performance out of Mason Baker, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That stolen base marked the first that Baker snagged this season. Cayden Walker was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Union City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hollis only posted an OBP of .391.

Union City pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Hollis, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, Union City and Hollis will both be playing Turpin the next time they take the field. Union City will head out to face Turpin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Hollis will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
