Tolleson saw some tournament action on Friday. They blew past the Seattle Prep Panthers 13-2. Considering the Wolverines have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Valentina Aceves looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits.
At the plate, Tolleson let Marina Lara and Trinity Preciado run wild. Lara went 2-for-3 with one home run, one triple, and two RBI, while Preciado scored two runs and stole Five bases. while going 1-for-2. That's the most stolen bases Preciado has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rubi Canez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
Tolleson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Seattle Prep only posted an OBP of .417.
The victory made it two in a row for Tolleson and bumps their season record up to 12-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tolleson will host Alhambra at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tolleson's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Alhambra's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Seattle Prep, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Bishop Blanchet at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
