League recap: Brick Township scores huge upset over Toms River North

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Toms River North, who took down 45th ranked Toms River North, 24-21.

Brick Township moved up to 214 from 246 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Shore - South A. The Green Dragons were able to make move up by topping the Mariners 24-21.

Jackson Memorial's dynamic duo of Joe Demaio and Marcus Ademilola proved tough for Lacey Township to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Demaio threw for 235 yards and four touchdowns and Ademilola had 103 yards receiving. Khani Glover helped Jackson Memorial's passing attack out by catching six balls for 82 yards.

Abe Gonzalez was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 164 yards on 31 carries as Southern Regional fell to the Lions. Dan Higgins also contributed to the rushing game with 59 yards on the ground.

Thanks to the talents of Tom Kelly and Kyle Spatz Lacey Township has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Kelly leads the league in passing with 1037 yards, while Spatz has rushed for 881 yards this season. The Rams' Mike Gesicki leads the league in receiving yards with 397 on 23 catches.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Toms River South takes on Brick Memorial. The Indians are currently in fifth, while the Mustangs are in third.

Lou Vircillo's team extended the longest winning streak in Shore - South A this week by beating Jackson Memorial, 45-28. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Lions.
