Baseball Game Preview: Fort Lee Bridgemen vs. Dumont Huskies

The Fort Lee Bridgemen will venture away from home to face off against the Dumont Huskies at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Fort Lee is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

Dumont will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Fort Lee extended their winning streak to three on Monday. The Bridgemen came out on top against the Huskies by a score of 9-4.

Fort Lee got a great performance from Gabriel Garcia as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Garcia has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Chris Kim was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Jeremiah Marrero was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Fort Lee's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Dumont, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-11.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Fort Lee has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Dumont struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
