Softball Recap: Cypress Woods Comes Up Short

If Cypress Woods was riding high fresh off their 13-2 takedown of Cypress Park on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats fell just short of the Bridgeland Bears by a score of 8-6 on Tuesday. The Wildcats have struggled against the Bears recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Peyton Wilkie was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexia Vazquez, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Cypress Woods' loss dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Bridgeland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cypress Woods will face off against Waller at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Bridgeland, they will challenge Langham Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lobos have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season.
