Softball Recap: Bishop Manogue's Loss Ends 14-Game Winning Streak at Home

After flying high against Basic on Friday, Bishop Manogue came back down to earth. Bishop Manogue fell just short of the Poly Bears by a score of 4-2 on Friday. If the Miners were looking for revenge after losing 6-4 to the Bears when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Sammi Boggs was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out nine batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits.

At the plate, Trella Springman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. Lo Faust also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Bishop Manogue's defeat ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-4. As for Poly, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3-1 record this season.

Bishop Manogue wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 9-6 victory against Sierra Canyon on the 22nd. As for Poly, they have also already played their next game, a 12-3 win against Banning on the 21st.
