Basketball Game Preview: Mountain View Prep Stars vs. Gaston Day Spartans

The Mountain View Prep Stars are taking a road trip to take on the Gaston Day Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Mountain View Prep is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They had to suffer through a 58-26 loss at the hands of Dreher. The game marked the Stars' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Termaine Williams put forth a good effort for the losing side as he went 6 for 9 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds. That was a full 46.2% of Mountain View Prep's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Gaston Day has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They came up short against Christ School on Wednesday, falling 66-44. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while the Greenies are ranked first).

Mountain View Prep's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Gaston Day, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.
