Baseball Recap: Upperman Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

Upperman lost to Friendship Christian back in March of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. Upperman put the hurt on Friendship Christian with a sharp 11-1 win. With that victory, the Bees brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Julian Llano made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Llano wasn't the only one making solid contact as eight players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Justin Fallon, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, Fallon posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Rylan Case was another, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.

Upperman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive matchups.

Upperman's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Friendship Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Looking ahead, Upperman will square off against York Institute at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Friendship Christian, they will challenge Ezell-Harding Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Ezell-Harding Christian will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Friendship Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
