Recap: Grainger Grizzlies vs. Carter Green Hornets

The Grainger Grizzlies scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Carter 76-40 at home. The win was just what Grainger needed coming off of a 84-47 defeat in their prior game.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grainger to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ava Dellinger, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dellinger has scored all season. Maribeth Stratton was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Carter's loss came despite strong showings from Lily Lampkin and Marah Yeo. Lampkin scored 12 points along with seven rebounds, while Yeo scored ten points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ivey Jones, who scored ten points.

Grainger's victory bumped their record up to 9-15. As for Carter, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-21 record this season.

Grainger will be playing in front of their home fans against Cherokee at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Grainger focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Saturday. As for Carter, they will head out on the road to square off against Jefferson County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jefferson County is on a five-game streak of home losses, Carter a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
