Soccer Game Preview: Battle Ground Academy vs. Notre Dame

The Battle Ground Academy Wildcats will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Battle Ground Academy's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over St. Cecilia Academy. Considering Battle Ground Academy have won nine matchups by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Notre Dame, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Christian Academy of Knoxville on Thursday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Notre Dame were the better team in the second half.

Ava Lovelace and Georgia Smith scored both of Notre Dame's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

Battle Ground Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those five matches. As for Notre Dame, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
