Basketball Game Preview: Stringtown Tigers vs. Tushka Tigers

Stringtown is on a three-game streak of home losses, Tushka a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Thursday. The Stringtown Tigers will welcome the Tushka Tigers at 8:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Stringtown had to suffer through a 83-32 loss at the hands of Stonewall. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Tushka was just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 48-47 to Moyers. While losing is never fun, Tushka can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Moyers is ranked 22nd).

Despite the loss, Tushka saw an underclassman step up: freshman Cleat Zike went 5 of 10 on his way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Self, who posted six points and six rebounds.

Tushka's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Stringtown, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Stringtown came out on top in a nail-biter against Tushka in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, sneaking past 46-43. Will Stringtown repeat their success, or does Tushka have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
