The biggest upset of the week belonged to Waxahachie, who took down 139th ranked Waxahachie, 44-33.
Austin VanHove and Tyler Scott provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Mansfield Summit. The longest such play in 4A Region II District 15 this season, the connection resulted in 89 yards.
VanHove and Cameron Bausley gave Red Oak a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. VanHove threw for 267 yards and three touchdowns, while Bausley ran for 204 yards. Teammate Jeremiah Gaines added to the ground attack by rushing for 16 yards.
Jordan Hester was the best wideout in the league this week as the Jaguars fell to the Hawks. Hester racked up five receptions for 108 yards.
Mansfield Summit's Antonio Bennett and Patrick Tshituka have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Bennett has thrown for 1419 yards this season, while Tshituka has 25 catches for 539 yards. Bausley from Red Oak leads the league in rushing with 937 yards.
Mike Shields' team's Bausley is a mere 63 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season.
Two highly touted recruits will be in the spotlight when the Hawks and the Tigers meet this week. Red Oak features well-regarded senior Gaines while Lancaster has Nick Harvey, a sought after defensive back.
A big matchup in 4A Region II District 15 this week will be when the Hawks take on Chris Gilbert's team. As it stands, Red Oak is in fourth, while the Tigers are in first.
Ennis extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Mansfield Legacy, 47-0. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
