Basketball Recap: Miller Takes a Loss

Miller was the 63-40 winner over Parkston when they last played one another back in December of 2014, but their luck changed this time around. The Miller Rustlers took a 57-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Parkston Trojans on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Rustlers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Trojans are ranked 11th).

Miller's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-4. As for Parkston, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Miller will head out to challenge Redfield at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Miller is facing Redfield at the right time seeing as Redfield is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Parkston, they are taking a road trip to take on Canistota at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Parkston will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Canistota will have lost six straight heading into Tuesday's contest.
