Basketball Game Preview: Fennimore Golden Eagles vs. Prairie du Chien Blackhawks

Fennimore hasn't had much luck against Prairie du Chien recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles will head out to face off against the Blackhawks at 6:00 p.m. Fennimore is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

On Monday, everything came up roses for Fennimore against River Ridge as the team secured a 53-26 win. With the Golden Eagles ahead 53-26 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Campbell Fitzgerald was the offensive standout of the matchup as she dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Ritchie, who posted eight points along with ten boards and three steals.

Fennimore smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Prairie du Chien took care of business in their home opener last Friday. They took down La Crosse Logan 44-27. The Blackhawks haven't had any issues with the Rangers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Fennimore's record now sits at 3-0. As for Prairie du Chien, their record is now 1-0.

Fennimore suffered a grim 51-26 defeat to Prairie du Chien in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Can the Golden Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
