Softball Recap: South Central's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Nine

South Central waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Swansboro Pirates. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

Lilly Worsley was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and one double while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Blaire Adee, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

South Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Swansboro only posted an OBP of .280.

South Central's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Swansboro, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-12.

South Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Swansboro, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against West Carteret at 6:00 p.m. The Patriots' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Pirates' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
