Softball Recap: Sublette Takes a Loss

Sublette extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They lost 16-1 to the Colby Eagles. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Larks couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Colby, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. The result was nothing new for Colby, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

For Colby's part, the team relied heavily on Myka Nolan, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave Nolan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ellie McCarty, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI and one double.

While Sublette had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
