Permian waltzed into their matchup on Friday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They strolled past the Midland Bulldogs with points to spare, taking the game 33-14. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 21-18 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

Permian was led to victory by Gavin Black and Kayden Vickers. Black rushed for 143 yards and one TD, while Vickers threw for 250 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes. Black's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 143 rushing yards.

Permian's record now sits at 9-1. As for Midland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Coming up, Permian will be playing in front of their home fans against Eastlake on Thursday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 983 yards in their previous games. Midland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
