Baseball Game Preview: Southside Tigers vs. Berea Bulldogs

Southside hasn't had much luck against Berea recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Southside will be playing at home against Berea at 6:00 p.m. Southside will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Southside is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came up short against Greenville Tech Charter on Monday, falling 16-6. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly ten runs.

Chance McClure made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Owen Kissik also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Berea was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 12-1 to Pickens.

Berea's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Southside, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Southside might still be hurting after the 14-4 defeat they got from Berea in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can Southside avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
