Softball Game Preview: Wheaton Knights vs. Blake Bengals

For the first time this season, Wheaton will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to face off against the Blake Bengals at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Wheaton will be strutting in after a victory while Blake will be coming in after a defeat.

Wheaton took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They walked away with a 16-12 win over Gaithersburg.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Blake was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They lost 20-1 to Richard Montgomery.

Wheaton's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Blake, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Wheaton got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 against Blake by a conclusive 19-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
