After flying high against Johnson County last Monday, Hampton came back down to earth. The Hampton Bulldogs fell just short of the Unaka Rangers by a score of 44-42 on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Michelle Shields continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Unaka, going 8 of 16 en route to 27 points. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Campbell, who posted seven points and five rebounds.

Hampton's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-6. As for Unaka, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 15-6.

Hampton and Unaka should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. Hampton (ranked 116th) will meet West Greene (ranked 241st) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hampton will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Similarly, Unaka will square off against University School at 6:30 p.m. on Friday up 208 places (162 vs. 370).
