Basketball Recap: Winters Mill Comes Up Short

Winters Mill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 59-50 to the South Carroll Cavaliers. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 65-44 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Winters Mill still got an impressive performance from Chase Siegel, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. Siegel has been hot, having posted nine or more rebounds the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nat Curley, who posted 11 points.

Winters Mill's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-6. As for South Carroll, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-3.

Winters Mill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 50-49 defeat against Brunswick on the 13th. South Carroll has also already played their next match (against Liberty), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
