Softball Recap: Staples Comes Up Short

Staples came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the New Canaan Rams, falling 15-4. The Wreckers haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Cora Barrett made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played.

Staples' loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for New Canaan, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Staples is set to take on their familiar foe McMahon at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, New Canaan will square off against rival Norwalk at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
