Basketball Game Preview: Santa Clara Saints vs. Malibu Sharks

The Santa Clara Saints are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on the Malibu Sharks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Santa Clara is headed out to face Malibu after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Saints came out on top against Channel Islands by a score of 48-40 on Tuesday. The Saints haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Jj Ward was a one-man wrecking crew as he dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten boards. His big performance that evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Dj Hughes, who posted 11 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Malibu took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging an 82-43 victory over Cate.

Santa Clara couldn't quite get it done against Malibu when the teams last played back in January of 2018 as they fell 47-39. Can the Saints avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
