Southwest DeKalb came tearing into Thursday's contest with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Stone Mountain Pirates by a score of 2-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in August.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Southwest DeKalb was: they took both sets by at least 12 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-12.

Southwest DeKalb's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Janai Townes, who had ten assists and eight aces. That's the most assists Townes has posted over her last 13 matches. Aivah Peters was another key player, getting five aces and three digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Southwest DeKalb was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in five consecutive matchups.

Southwest DeKalb's win bumped their record up to 17-11. As for Stone Mountain, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Coming up, Southwest DeKalb is taking a road trip to take on Arabia Mountain at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stone Mountain, they will face off against Stephenson at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
