Baseball Recap: Benton Takes a Loss

Benton lost against Pinckneyville two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Rangers took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers.

Benton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drake Porter, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. Holden Skibo was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Benton's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Pinckneyville, the win got them back to even at 11-11.

Benton has already played their next contest, a 4-2 victory against Carbondale on the 5th. Pinckneyville has also already played their next matchup (against Johnston City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
