Basketball Recap: Shawano Community Comes Up Short

Shawano Community was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 47-46 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lakeland Thunderbirds. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thunderbirds apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Shawano Community's defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Lakeland, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-13-1.

Coming up, Shawano Community will head out to square off against Green Bay East at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lakeland, they will face off against Newman at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Lakeland is facing Newman at the right time seeing as Newman is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
