Baseball Game Preview: Luther Lions vs. Dibble Demons

For the second straight game, Luther will face off against Dibble. The Lions will square off against the Demons at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Things were looking good for Luther after they put the first run on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Dibble by a score of 4-2.

For Dibble's part, Trey Ott made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Ott posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Ott wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Blake Creswell, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles Creswell has posted since back in March.

The win was the third in a row for Dibble, bringing their record up to 24-5. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.67 runs across that stretch. As for Luther, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season.
