Baseball Recap: Whale Branch Comes Up Short

If Whale Branch was feeling good fresh off their 17-6 takedown of Lake Marion last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Whale Branch lost 13-3 to the Jefferson Davis Academy Raiders on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 two weeks ago.

Whale Branch saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trystin Roberts, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Kenyon Jenkings also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Whale Branch's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Jefferson Davis Academy, they moved to 6-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coming up, Whale Branch will host Lake Marion at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Whale Branch is facing Lake Marion at the right time seeing as Lake Marion is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Jefferson Davis Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Colleton Prep Academy at 6:30 p.m. on April 8.
