Soccer Recap: Alvin Comes Up Short

Alvin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against the Pearland Oilers, falling 8-1. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 748th, while the Oilers are ranked 171st).

Alvin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Pearland, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alvin will host Sam Rayburn at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pearland, they will challenge Manvel at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Pearland is facing Manvel at the right time seeing as Manvel is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
