For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Denver and Columbus have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. The Cyclones skirted past the Sailors 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cyclones have posted since June 19, 2024.

Denver's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-3. As for Columbus, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Denver didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 13-10 win against South Hardin on the 10th. Columbus has also already played their next contest (against Sumner-Fredericksburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
