Soccer Game Preview: Rancho Bernardo vs. Del Norte

The Rancho Bernardo Broncos will square off against the Del Norte Nighthawks on Thursday. Rancho Bernardo's last four matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Del Norte will have to contend with a Rancho Bernardo team hungry for a win, something the squad hasn't seen since the tenth. Neither Rancho Bernardo nor San Pasqual could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Del Norte on the other hand, have had a phenomenal season so far and haven't lost a game yet. They never let Westview onto the board and left with a 3-0 victory on Tuesday. Given the Nighthawks' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Wolverines are ranked 185th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Del Norte's win bumped their record up to 8-0-4. Rancho Bernardo's draw gives them a new season record of 7-3-3.

Rancho Bernardo came up short against Del Norte in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 3-1. Can Rancho Bernardo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
