Basketball Game Preview: Spartanburg Vikings vs. Dorman Cavaliers

Spartanburg is 0-10 against Dorman since February of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Spartanburg Vikings will square off against the Dorman Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Saturday, Spartanburg was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 73-67 to Greenville. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (59), the Vikings still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dorman). They took their matchup on Saturday with ease, bagging an 88-50 win over Chapman. The Cavaliers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 28 points or more this season.

The victory (which was Dorman's third in a row) raised their record to 10-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.3 points per game. As for Spartanburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Spartanburg took a serious blow against Dorman when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 81-49. Can Spartanburg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
