After low-scoring totals in their previous four  match, Watervliet brought some dynamite into their most recent  contest. Everything went their way against Kellogg on Thursday as they made off with  a  17-2 win. The result was nothing new for Watervliet, who have now won six games by 15  runs or more  so far this season.
Watervliet got a  massive  performance out of  Emma Kirksey, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and two  RBI. That's the most  hits  Kirksey has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was  Sienna Bulat, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  double.
 Watervliet was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .591. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
Watervliet's victory  ended  a  nine-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 8-10-1. As for Kellogg, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record  this season.
Watervliet will have a chance to go back-to-back against Kellogg: the pair will be back at it again later today.
