Baseball Recap: Sparta Takes a Loss

Sparta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 15-7 to the Frankfort Redbirds. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Redbirds earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Braden Reinhardt was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Skylar Spivey, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Sparta's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Frankfort, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-14.

Looking ahead, Sparta will be playing at home against Pinckneyville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Frankfort, they will venture away from home to face off against Eldorado at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
