Volleyball Recap: Mater Dei's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to 12

Mater Dei entered their tilt with Orange Lutheran on Tuesday with 11 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 12. They blew past the Lancers 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 two weeks ago.

Mater Dei walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-12, 25-18.

Layli Ostovar paced Mater Dei's offense, picking up 18 kills. Ostovar got some help from Soraya Dennis and her 23 assists. Lizzy Robinson controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Mater Dei's victory bumped their record up to 27-4. As for Orange Lutheran, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 24-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Mater Dei is set to square off against their familiar foe Santa Margarita at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Orange Lutheran will challenge rival JSerra Catholic at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
