Signal Mountain got a great performance from Luke Smiley as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. What's more, Smiley posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since March 2nd.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Bo Cooper, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Benjamin Dotson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.
Signal Mountain kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Red Bank only managed six.
As for Red Bank, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
On Red Bank's side, Hayden Knam put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. What's more, Knam gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Knam wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sean Brune, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.
Signal Mountain will have a chance to go back-to-back against Red Bank: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
