Recap: Walnut Grove Christian Christian Warriors vs. Providence Classical

The Walnut Grove Christian Christian Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight defeat. They fell 72-63 to Providence Classical. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Walnut Grove Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Robbie Adams, who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Adams has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Heitzmann, who scored 14 points.

It was another big night for Xan Rahalawicz, who scored 23 points along with eight steals and seven assists for Providence Classical. Rahalawicz is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 18 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Bryson Lahr, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.

Walnut Grove Christian dropped their record down to 3-16 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Providence Classical, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.

Walnut Grove Christian and the Knights will face off at 5:30 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Lee Park Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. As for Providence Classical, they and the NightHawks will face off at 6:45 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in their respective states (NorthPoint Christian Academy is ranked 500th in North Carolina, while the are ranked 525th in South Carolina).
