Volleyball Recap: River Islands Comes Up Short

River Islands suffered their biggest loss since April 1st on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Ben Holt College Prep Academy Bobcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on April 1st.

River Islands took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-16, 25-20.

Nikhil Raj paced River Islands' offense, picking up seven kills. Raj got some help from Urijah DeOcampo and his 15 assists.

River Islands' defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Ben Holt College Prep Academy, the victory was the 26th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 34-1.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. After both having extra time off, River Islands and Vacaville Christian will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ben Holt College Prep Academy, they will face off against Casa Roble at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
