Baseball Recap: Dawson Sets Scoring Season-High Against Hubbard

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dawson). Everything went their way against the Hubbard Jaguars on Friday as they made off with a 22-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won seven in a row.

Braiden Hogue made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Hogue was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, David Rierson was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bryce Kelley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.

Dawson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .684. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Dawson's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Hubbard, their defeat was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-14.

Dawson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hubbard, they will face off against Riesel at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
