Conifer extends home losing streak to four

Recap: Conifer Lobos vs. Wheat Ridge Farmers

The Conifer Lobos's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their tenth straight loss. They fell just short of Wheat Ridge by a score of 34-32. Conifer has not had much luck with the Farmers recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Several Lobos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Megan Swearengin, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Finley Johnson, who scored eight points.

Wheat Ridge can attribute much of their success to Gianna Bergren, who scored six points along with seven steals. Lyric Ashford was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.

Conifer's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Wheat Ridge, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Conifer will challenge the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Dakota Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. As for Wheat Ridge, they will head out on the road to challenge the Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Standley Lake is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.4 points per game this season.
