Baseball Game Preview: Grandview Greyhounds vs. Othello Huskies

Grandview hasn't had much luck against Othello recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Greyhounds will welcome the Huskies at 11:00 a.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Othello will be up against a hot Grandview team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Greyhounds put the hurt on Ephrata with a sharp 9-2 win on Friday. That seven-run margin sets a new team best for the Greyhounds this season.

Isaiah Castro and Xathian Castro made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Castro tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Xathian tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Isaiah has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Castro got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Xathian got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cubie Castro, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with six stolen bases and three runs. Jojo Mora was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Othello). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Prosser a 14-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Huskies have won three games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Othello's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Grandview, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
