Volleyball Recap: Newark Memorial's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

If Newark Memorial was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Tennyson on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars fell 2-0 to the Mercy Bears on Saturday. The loss put an end to the Cougars' undefeated start to the season.

Erin Santos paced Newark Memorial's offense, picking up four kills. Santos got some help from Gianna Adame and her nine assists.

Having lost for the first time this season, Newark Memorial fell to 5-1. As for Mercy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Newark Memorial has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Mater Dei Catholic on the 6th. As for Mercy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Monte Vista on the 6th.
