Baseball Recap: Lawndale Makes It Four in a Row at Home

Lawndale never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Beverly Hills Normans with a sharp 10-0 win. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Normans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Issaiah Alvarado made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Seth Alex Rodriguez was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Jeremy Lara was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Lawndale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .543 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Lawndale pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.8 runs. As for Beverly Hills, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-8-1 record.

Lawndale will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Normans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
