Baseball Recap: Ridgefield Park Gets the Win

Ridgefield Park won the last time they faced Cliffside Park and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Scarlets came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 11-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Scarlets.

Justin Maldonado and Jeremy Ballestas did most of the damage at the plate: Maldonado went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Ballestas went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs Maldonado has posted since April 2nd. The team also got some help courtesy of Jay Mejia, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Ridgefield Park's record now sits at 11-7. As for Cliffside Park, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-10.

Coming up, Ridgefield Park will look to defend their home field on Friday against Passaic Valley at 4:15 p.m. As for Cliffside Park, they will head out to take on River Dell at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders are facing the Golden Hawks at the right time seeing as the Golden Hawks are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
