Soccer Recap: Rustburg Comes Up Short

Rustburg lost against Glass back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Red Devils lost 8-0 to the Hilltoppers. While losing is never fun, Rustburg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 150th, while Glass are ranked 27th).

This is the second loss in a row for Rustburg and nudges their season record down to 3-5-1. As for Glass, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Rustburg is set to face off against their familiar foe Amherst County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Glass will take on rival Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
